An unlikely friendship...

Created by Samantha 2 years ago

I met Conor during my final year of University, and it was an interesting introduction to say the least... after living with him for about a week, Conor 'fell' through the living room window. I remember coming downstairs to grab a cuppa before work, and him explaining to me he had lost his key, tried to climb the back fence (unsuccessfully) and therefore stumbled and fell through the big bay window - with not a scratch on him!

I remember thinking... oh no... what kind of character am I living with here...

In all truth, the character I was living with was one of the funniest, kind, thoughtful people I ever had the joy of spending time with and our friendship would extend much further than just a housemate from Uni.

Conor was the West Parade party guy, and where there was a night out, there was always a fabulous suede jacket, or a classic pocket watch to come with it.

When Easter arrived, an ordinary egg just wouldn't do - Conor handmade me an easter egg.

I got breakfast before going to work - he was the first person to cook me slimy salmon with posh eggs on a breakfast muffin because he was sick of me eating chicken nuggets.

Conor - you were the guy who always stayed behind to walk me home, the guy who always gave me a hug if I had a bad day. Even 9 years later I knew you were always at the end of the phone for dinner, drinks, crazy golf, cinema.. whatever it was... to catch up and cheer up whenever needed.

Words cannot express the sadness I feel that you aren't around anymore, but I know I will be forever grateful for the all the memories and good times we had. I will miss you.
